What is a rebate?
In the healthcare supply chain, a rebate is a financial incentive or refund provided by a manufacturer or supplier to a hospital, health system, or Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) based on the volume of purchases, compliance with contracts, or other predefined terms. Rebates are retroactive discounts—they don’t reduce the upfront purchase price, but instead are paid back after meeting certain conditions.
